Projects
Throughout my academic and professional career, I have been involved in the development of several nanosatellite missions, ranging from technology demonstration CubeSats to operational space systems. Most of these projects involved my participation throughout the entire development lifecycle, including mission conception, systems engineering, embedded hardware and software design, subsystem integration, environmental testing, and mission validation.
These projects have provided hands-on experience in embedded systems, spacecraft engineering, software-defined radio, satellite communications, and systems integration, contributing to the development of reliable and cost-effective space technologies.
The following pages present an overview of some of the most representative projects in which I have participated.
Academic Projects
FloripaSat-1
A 1U CubeSat mission developed by SpaceLab at UFSC to demonstrate an open-source CubeSat platform and validate key technologies for future Brazilian nanosatellite missions.
FloripaSat-2
A small constellation of two CubeSats for validating the FloripaSat-2 platform and testing LoRa communication between two satellites in orbit.
GOLDS-UFSC
A 2U CubeSat mission developed at SpaceLab/UFSC focused on validating new technologies for future satellite missions.
Catarina-A1/A3
A Brazilian nanosatellite constellation program led by the Brazilian Space Agency to provide environmental data collection services.
SLCam
An open source camera payload for nanossatellite missions with the objective of taking pictures of the Earth from space.
SpaceLab's Ground Station
An open-source SDR-based ground station developed to support satellite tracking, telemetry, telecommand, and mission operations.
Professional Projects
VCUB1
A 6U CubeSat technology demonstration mission developed by the Brazilian space industry to validate critical national space technologies.
Catarina-A2
A 3U CubeSat mission designed to collect environmental data from remote platforms while demonstrating SDR technology for space-based communications.
Personal Projects
PyNGHam
A Python library that implements the NGHam protocol, based on the library written in C by Jon Petter Skagmo (LA3JPA).
PyModulation
A Python library that implements a collection of digital modulation and demodulation techniques with a strong focus on Software-Defined Radio (SDR) applications.
